Payments

Payment methods if you receive an enforcement order

Penalty notices or enforcement orders must be paid in full by the due date to avoid further sanctions and additional enforcement costs.

If your financial circumstances prevent you from paying a penalty notice in full you may pay it off over 2 months without incurring additional costs. You can make part payments as low as $20 towards a fine, provided that full payment is made by the due date on the penalty reminder notice.

The due date can be located at the top right hand corner of the penalty notice or enforcement order. If you are unable to pay the penalty notice in full by the due date on the penalty reminder notice due to financial difficulties, and you receive a Centrelink benefit, you may be able to set up an instalment plan through Centrepay. You will not pay the usual $50 fee if you contact us before the penalty reminder due date to arrange the instalment.
