Online court election

You can complete a court election form online, providing the penalty notice is in your name or you are an authorised representative of the company named on the penalty notice, and you lodge it before the due date on the original reminder notice.

If you are not the driver at the time of a parking, toll, camera detected or transferable offence, you will need to provide a statutory declaration naming the person responsible. If received by the due date on the penalty reminder notice, we will transfer liability for the penalty to the person named and issue them a new penalty notice. If they wish to have the matter decided in court, they can lodge their request online, using the form or in writing once the penalty is in their name.

Instead of proceeding to court, you can dispute or seek leniency for an offence by requesting a review by SDRO. You can use the form or send your request in writing by the due date on the original penalty reminder notice. Please attach all supporting documentation.

Note: Choose carefully - Do not lodge a court election if you wish to request a review as the law requires us to cease any review upon receipt of a court election. If you seek a review and the outcome is unfavourable, you are unlikely to meet legislated deadlines for court election. You can contact us for assistance in deciding whether to request a review or proceed to court.
