If you take no action
Your options if you receive an enforcement order
When your penalty notice becomes an enforcement order, you have the following options:
- pay in full before the due date
- apply for time to pay by instalments
- request a review of the enforcement action if you believe it was issued in error or want to have it heard before a court.
Enforcement actions
Once your penalty notice becomes an enforcement order the following actions can be taken against you to recover the outstanding amount:
- apply RTA restrictions. These include driver licence suspension or cancellation of vehicle registration(s)
- issuing a property seizure order
- issuing a garnishee order of wages or monies in your bank account(s)
- and if you cannot pay, issue a community service order
